What is StayHomeStaySocial?

As the COVID-19 crisis continues to engulf our way of living, it is further exacerbating the challenges faced by everyone, in particular older adults. StayHomeStaySocial matches dedicated and friendly volunteer Buzzers with members of the older population, using innovative technologies to connect them by telephone in an  safe, accessible and innovative manner. StayHomeStaySocial is brought to you by the team behind Friendlybuzz.

Who is Friendlybuzz?

Friendlybuzz, a new public benefit corporation, offers the ultimate science-based health and wellbeing program for older adults. Friendlybuzz believes when it comes to staying healthy, being happy, feeling invigorated, and nurturing our mental and cognitive abilities, age does not matter. Using ground-breaking research, Friendlybuzz has built the most comprehensive health and wellbeing program for older adults, leveraging the latest in gerontological understanding and innovative technologies. How are matches made?

Relationships are most enriching when the matches are curated. The unique technology and onboarding processes create the most suitable matches for mutually enriching and inspiring connections.

What are some of the benefits of having once-weekly telephone conversations?

Research demonstrates that consistent socialization by older adults leads to a reduced risk of depression  and anxiety, longer lifespan and greater self-esteem. It enhances mental health and intellectual capacity,  and combats cognitive decline and various forms of dementia. These are just some of the benefits of using StayHomeStaySocial.

What if I want to cancel my membership or get a new match?

Our technology works hard to create suitable and likeminded connections. In the unlikely event you would like to change your match, or cancel your membership, email hello@stayhomestaysocial.org.

I cannot make a scheduled call; how do I reschedule?

If you cannot make the call, you may cancel that call by following the short prompts listed in your Matching confirmation email. Please only cancel when absolutely necessary; your match looks forward to speaking with you and we do not want to disappoint.
